Destiel
Uh, I'm just going to do Destiel since I don't know Mulder/Scully that well at all, sorry...

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Dean is totally the big spoon. It takes Cas a long time to really relax into sleep, particularly after he turned fully human, so Dean just got used to holding him, talking him into calm and then sleep, and then Cas learned to need it when he discovered dreams and nightmares because Dan's presence was just so--it was reassuring. And as for Dean, well, he's always been the one who protects. It's who he fucking is.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Cas is fascinated by all popular media, particularly movies. Dean is fascinated by Cas. What he really loves, though, is watching Cas watch everything.

Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Dean. In fairness, Cas didn't realize for a long time that turning the knob meant you could control the temperature and was honestly puzzled by how long Dean would take in there.

What they order from take out: Hawaiian pizza. Cas doesn't understand why fruit and ham make it Hawaiian, and Dean just thinks it's funny.

What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Where socks disappear to. Cas is pretty sure there's a lesser daemon that takes them for unknown purposes, Dean thinks there are micro-blackholes that swallow them up.

Who does most of the cleaning: Cas. At first because he finds a lot of...smells repellant and bewildering, and later because he gets in the habit. Dean calls him the wife for more than one reason.

What has a season pass in their DVR: If they were ever some place long enough, it would be Dean. And it would be full of Dr. Sexy, MD.

Who controls the netflix queue: This is Cas, actually, because once he's gotten used to the human way of doing things, it turns out he's hella good with computers, and hacking. He gets them streaming access to Netflix and not a few anime pornography sites which Dean assures him are educational, and which he agrees, indeed, are.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Not necessary. Dean's known how to fix everything in Bobby's--in their--house since he was twelve.

Who steals the blankets: Dean, but with him wrapped so tight around Cas, it doesn't matter.

Who leaves their stuff around: Dean. Cas has an emphatic belief in everything-in-its-place mindset that is older than, well, anything.

Who remembers their anniversary: They both do, they just count from diferent days. For Dean, it was two months and four days after Cas fell all the way, fell human, and it was when he felt like the little angel knew enough of the world that when he told him he wanted Dean, Dean felt like he could say yes and not be gross about it. For Cas--and he will only admit this much, much later, because he kept it hidden even from himself too long--it was the moment Dean first prayed, and he came, and knew without knowing that whenever Dean Winchester called, he would be there.

Kara Thrace/River Tam
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: For a long time it was Kara, because she couldn't help it: the moonbeam was so little, y'know? But underneath it all, when River tells her that it's time for the colors to come out of the painting, when Kara actuall let herself go, it was River who was holding her, River who stroked her hair and murmured Jì dé wǒ ai nǐ over and over, and she knew she was home, and she didn't need Earth.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Kara likes brushing River's hair; River finds it soothing. River will thread tiny braids into Kara's that the pilot pretends is annoying but secretly loves.

Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Both of them do. It makes Mal more'n a mite angry and sends Jayne back to his bunk with a slammed hatch quicker'n anything.

What they order from take out: Kara likes the green-colored protein best; she pretends its spinach and can stomach the non-flavor better that way, while River truly doesn't care. If they are dirtside, they love bao and will eat the buns piping hot, licking their fingers and grinning like children.

What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Exactly the notes the stars sing. River will hum them quietly and Kara will weave the melody in, and no one else understands why they sing like that without words or can identify the tune.

Who does most of the cleaning: Kara. Habit, mostly: she never had all that much space on Galactica and she sure as hell doesn't on Serenity. And sometimes River gets in those odd moods where she's between one thought and the next and, well, that's the way of things.

What has a season pass in their DVR: When it's their turn to pull up something on the cortex, they both love this godawful kung fu soap opera. The only one who will watch it with them is Zoe, because the baby thinks it's soothing and kicks less, and later sleeps by it sometimes.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Kaylee comes to their room with an awkward flush the first time, but ever after she treats their requests with specific attention, mostly to annoy Simon.

Who steals the blankets: River. Her feet get cold. Kara thinks the quickest way to steal them back is to wrap herself around River. Problem solved.

Who leaves their stuff around: Such as it is? River, whose thoughts run in fast like birds and sometimes she gets distracted and can't think and all the voices are too loud and that's when Kara will sing quietly and put things to rights.

Who remembers their anniversary: River counts from the day they met because she could feel Kara's attraction like molten gold, then when it became affection it was warm, the best blanket ever, and when it turned to love--well. As for Kara, she never counted until after six months of sharing bunks and food and everything, River takes a bullet for her, and Simon has a helluva job putting her to rights, and Kara sits by the infirmary bed praying fervently to Apollo and Zeus and all the Lords of Kobol, and when River wakes up and calls her silly, they kiss, and that's that.

Kirk/Eomer
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Eomer always slept on his back, before. But the Rodorbeorne gravitates to him in his sleep ("You're warm, Eoh!") and by morning he would always find himself in a tangle of arms and legs. When he dreams of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, remembering finding his sister as one lifeless or his Uncle still and cold, or other, worse things, he always finds Jim solidly stretched behind him, warm and heavy, as a shield.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: The obvious answer would be riding, but truth be told, it is in the still of the night when it's the two of them, alone, and Jim will sing to him. The man has a low, clear voice, but he dislikes singing in front of the Rohirrim--who, truth be told, are a nation of singer all--but he will do this thing for Eomer, if he asks.

Who uses all the hot water in the morning: Typically they take turns, but in their later years, Eomer feels that as King he is allowed some few pleasures in life, and a large tub fit enough for both of them is wrought. Eomer Eadig and Jim Kirk Rodorbeorne are well loved by their people, and none of the servants remark on the trouble of the extra buckets they must bear.

What they order from take out: Eomer is a simple man and always content with what meat and bread is on the table, but sometimes Jim misses those comforts from his ship in the stars. In particular, he misses something called "Thai food" that he describes as a dish of very spicy thin dumplings. One day in Minas Tirith Erkenbrand happened to come upon an Easterling trader, and told his liege lord of those things he observed in that man's caravan. Some hours later, and looking very smug, Eomer leads Jim to a small encampment on the first level of the city. "Oh my God, you found Pud kee mow!" Jim all but shouts, and Eomer and bemused Easterlings watch as he gleefully consumes bowl after bowl of the stuff.

What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Exactly how often Jim talks to his horse.

Who does most of the cleaning: They are both very neat men, Jim with all his Starfleet habits, Eomer having spent most of his life on patrols. Years of impeccable neatness are another reason the servants don't grumble about all the bathwater, though they do laugh at how much of it ends up on the floor sometimes.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Jim maintains that "Iowa" is much colder than Edoras. His first winter there, Eomer will drape his cloak over his guthwine with some jest or other because Jim refuses to admit he's cold. Unspoken, servants quickly learn to build fine blazes in the King's rooms on a winter's eve. By the next winter, Jim hardly notices anymore.

Who steals the blankets: Eomer kicks them off in his sleep sometimes. Jim will settle them about them both again.

Who leaves their stuff around: For all his neatness, Eomer was raised in the royal house. He is accustomed to certain things being restored after he has left a room--this scroll, that garment, and so forth. It takes Jim much, much longer to get used to having servants, not just a yeoman, and it makes him feel vaguely guilty. But the Rohirrim are a proud people, and gradually he learns that respect is not just in taking care of others, but sometimes, letting them take care of you, too.

Who remembers their anniversary: Much is made among the Rohirrim in commemorating the pledges made between partners. Eomer takes great care every year, preparing or procuring some simple gift each time: a carefully crafted song, a warm cloak with exquisite embroidery. His triumph will have always been the "noodles" Jim was so fond of. Jim has never really been good about dates--until he came to Arda, there was a lot he didn't like to remember, and he never got in the habit. He tells Eomer as much, but it's quite clear that, every day, he takes care to let the Man know that he is held so very dear ny his battle-friend.

X-Men: 1st class: Charles/Erik

Charles/Erik
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Charles had always been accustomed to being the little spoon; apparently there was just some...innocence...in him that brought that out in his partners. It had been the same with Erik, at first, and then, as he came to know his friend, his love better, as Erik chose to share this and that moment with him, Charles found himself holding him closer and closer each night. Erik, who had never before been shown such determined passion, such intense feeling, was at first astonished, and now finds comfort synonymous with Charles's arms about him, thighs and legs cupped behind his own.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Chess. Well...they tell people it's nonsexual. Anyone who has ever watched them play has good cause to doubt it.

Who uses all the hot water in the morning: After that first embarrassed morning when he couldn't stop apologizing enough to an increasingly amused Erik, new water heaters are placed in the mansion. It's never an issue again.

What they order from take out: At Oxford, Charles got in the habit of nipping out to this or that shop for food: curries, fish and chips, pizzas. Erik, who never had a real home before Westchester, and who has to intermittently witness this behavior on their recruitment trips, staunchly refuses to eat out except on special occasions. Having come of age with too little food, and none of it good, Erik not only makes sure their pantry is stolidly provisioned but learns to cook with a single-mindedness that is damn near terrifying. The thing is--he's brilliant at it. When the scent of latkes floats out, every nose in the house twitches and the kitchen will be flooded with a crowd of students eager to see what the professor is up to.

What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Charles's determination to continue buying gray tracksuits in bulk.

Who does most of the cleaning: The chore board is posted by the kitchen. Everyone respects the neat, elegant handwriting and knows exactly who will be reinforcing the allotments. After the one time Sean "forgot" to do the dishes...well, the less said the better.

What has a season pass in their DVR: If Charles is in the common room, it will be PBS. That is all.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Bobby Drake's penchant for practical jokes was somehow more easily forgiven than the dirty dishes incident. The students suspect its because he has never dared to go near the Professor's rooms.

Who steals the blankets: Charles will. Erik, less cold-natured, usually snorts and rolls over. Charles will inevitably follow. Problem solved.

Who remembers their anniversary: They are both ridiculous romantics, though Erik scoffs at the notion. Instead, every year one will "forget" and the other will triumphantly produce a surprise of some sort. It's the most obvious thing in the world. The female students find it adorable, the males bewildering.

Vampire!Kirk/McCoy
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: For the first year or so it was always Jim, who, newly human, still possessed his taut, mortal physique--which with Starfleet training only hardened. He was accustomed to viewing Bones as mortal, to be held and cherished, even when he himself was mortal, too. But at the Academy, Bones starts to seriously fill out, adolescent lankiness giving way to solid muscle. By the time they graduate, he's denser, heavier--and, having witnessed Jim's immportal foolhardiness hardly giving way to sanity, holds the former vampire tightly each night.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Jim has always exulted in physical activity, but as a mortal with air moving in his lungs and blood rushing in his veins, he loves running and sparring. (Sparring with a Slayer is different as a mortal, too. If he didn't love Bones so much, he would be in deep deep trouble with Spock by now.) Leonard is still fascinated by Jim's movements now; he still has that loping, leonine grace that attracted him in the first place. He could watch Jim spar for hours--but it's useful to spar with him too. Particularly since otherwise Spock will likely get the wrong idea about all that fighting with Nyota, bondmate or not.

Who uses all the hot water in the morning: It's not until he's Captain that Jim gets a proper water shower; it's always been sonics. The first time he tries it out, he's by himself, and for a split-second he forgets everything and is back in a lonely apartment in Riverside in 2003. Ever after, he pulls Bones in with him when he has real water. The only flashbacks he has then are the fun naked ones.

What they order from take out: Jim still loves that Chinese place he took Bones to on their first real date. They go there once a week while at the Academy, and then regularly on shore leaves home.

What is the most trivial thing they fight over: Jim loves to torment the Federation History professors, not least because he was actually alive for most of the events they cover. He quickly gets a reputation as an excellent tutor, and if any students wonder why he always sounds like he was there for the Xindi attacks or the Terra Prime movement, well, they just assume it's because he has a lively imagination.

Who does most of the cleaning: Bones. Was there ever a doubt?

What has a season pass in their DVR: Jim really likes twentieth and twenty-first century pop culture. Leonard would think it was boring if watching it with him, well, wasn't. He finds Jim's unerring preference for episodic films by "HBO" to always be extra entertaining as well.

Who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Scotty. Somehow there was never an instant's doubt that they would all be on the same ship together, one day.

Who steals the blankets: Usually Jim, particularly if he's dreaming about his life before he got his soul back.

Who leaves their stuff around: With work and insistence, Jim gradually adopts Starfleet levels of neatness, but 250 years of living on his own is still hard to break, and he forgets. While occasionally annoying, Leonard usually doesn't care.

Who remembers their anniversary: They don't celebrate their first times together--any of them. It's too--just too messy. But Jim becoming human? That was something else. They don't really remark on it, almost superstititously, like if they did something would happen, some fresh new apocalypse. So instead, they just live for each moment, every day, together.
