I Miss Music

Funny coincidence today: Last night I dreamed of playing my saxophone, which I haven't played since high school. I gave up music because it stopped being fun--it was all about competition for first chair, for this school or that school. I was only happy at Christmas time because carols were fun. I was glad when it was over. But in my dream I was playing for fun and it was happy.

Today I randomly had a conversation with one of the faculty. He asked if I was a musician, I said once upon a time. He said if I ever wanted to come play, a group of friends and he liked to meet at his studio for playing. Now I kinda want to, only my saxophone is somewhere in my Mom's basement in Georgia. Hmm though.

Tonight I couldn't help thinking of that same Post article as it penetrates the blogosphere. I spent over forty minutes conducting a class of students in providing MLA citations for three different resources (book, journal, web article). What I wouldn't give to have locked "Thomas Washington" up with them.
