Blithe Randomness

Having been in charge of the library for the past week and a half, I am coming to the conclusion that I think I never want to be in charge of anything.

~~

NaNoWriMo is stalling me. Grr.

~~

Got Neil Gaiman's newest, Fragile Things. Once again, the man. is. god.

~~

Scott and I are going to try to make tapas for D&D Sunday. This will be particularly interesting as it will apparently involve nuking pre-cooked octopus in the microwave. Stories to follow, undoubtedly.

Well I got this tapas cookbook--Tapas, a Taste of Spain in America by Jose Andres--which is written by the chef-owner of our favorite tapas place in DC. The recipes seem to be astonishingly straightforward and he has anecdotes and tips on all of them. We're going to try making apple and cheese salad, chicken and ham croquettes, spinach with raisens and pine nuts, and the octopus with potato. So, yeah, we'll see about stories.

We're also embarking on a "making our own limoncello" adventure. Th mixture is currently fermenting--or whatever it does--under my desk as that is the darkest and coolest place in my apartment. Stay tuned.

Yeah, tapas/topless funnies are possible.

The limoncello recipe I got from one of Frances Mayes Tuscany books. We're belatedly realizing we have to find some sort of two-quart bottle thing to put the completed thing in, though we've been collecting orangina bottles for the purpose.
