This is the book version of Julie Powell's blog, dedicated to spending a year cooking all the recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. I love this book as I, like Julie, can do all of the following things:

1) Have bizarre incidents in the kitchen.
2) Use expansive profanity before, during, and after said incidents. E.g. Eggs go plop on floor: "Aw fudge." I cut myself: "Aw fuck." Smoke alarm goes off: "AW FUUUUUUCK." Etc.
3) Obsess about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, use it as comfort tv, and generally use it to reference most of everyday life.

End result: I now wanna learn French cooking. Pity poor, poor Scott.

It's good light reading--I read it in a couple of days. I wouldn't rate it as "full price good"--try finding a cheap copy first. :)
